C. Schedule 1: Hanoi – Nam Can border gate – Xieng Khouang – Luang Prabang

1. Pick up at hotels/motels in Hanoi Old Quarter area from 3.00pm - 3.20pm. Pick up at Lao embassy at 3.30pm. Pick up guests early to avoid traffic jams that affect your schedule.
2. Mr. Hung who pick you up – We will provide a photo of Mr. Hung so guests can easily recognize him.
He will arrange a mini bus/taxi to take you to Nuoc Ngam bus station. (About 5-7km).
At the bus station, the staff will give you a ticket to check in and get on the bus.
3. Ticket price: 1,200,000 VND/person pay Mr. Hung - The person who picks you up.
4. Bus type: Single bed without toilet on the bus. (All buses from Hanoi to Phonsavan - Xieng Khoaung, Laos and Luang Prabang do not have toilets on the bus)
5. Bus departure time: 5.45pm - 6.00pm
6. The bus arrives at Nam Can border gate at 2.00AM to 3.00AM - People still sleep on the bus until 7AM. Everyone started preparing to check out and check in to Laos.
7. Bus arrival time to Luang Prabang, Laos is around 10:00 PM - 11:00PM on day 2.

D. Schedule 2: Hanoi – Tay Trang Border Gate – Oudomxay – Luang Prabang ( BEST)

1. Pick up at hotels/motels in Hanoi Old Quarter area from 3.00pm - 3.10pm. Pick up at Lao embassy at 3.20pm. Pick up guests early to avoid traffic jams that affect your schedule.
2. Mr. Hung who pick you up – We will provide a photo of Mr. Hung so guests can easily recognize him.
He will arrange a mini bus/taxi to take you to the bus stop. (Near 20km)
3. Ticket price: 1,350,000 VND/person pay Mr. Hung - The person who picks you up.
4. Bus type: Double cabin bed without toilet on the bus
5. Bus departure time: 5.00pm - 5.30pm
6. The bus arrives at Tay Trang border gate at 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM. Prepare to exit Vietnam and enter Laos.
7. Bus arrival time to Oudomxay, Laos is about 3.00 PM on day 2. Ticket company staff will give high-speed train tickets to you - The train departs at 3.50PM and the train arrives in Luang Prabang at 5.00PM. If for some reason the arrival time to Oudomxay is later, the driver will change to the fast VIP soft seat train at 6.30pm and you will be in Luang Prabang for nearly 45 minutes

E. Schedule 3: Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu Bus Station – Luang Prabang ( Sleeper bus + mini van + Train)

The driver picks you up at the bus station and departs for Dien Bien Phu bus station from 5:30pm - 6:00pm (Sleeper bus)

At Dien Bien Phu bus station, the bus driver will take you to the mini van departing for Muang Xai. When you arrive at Muang Xai, the driver will give you a train ticket to depart for Luang Prabang.
Estimated time to arrive in Luang Prabang is about 5pm.

3. Ticket price: 1,350,000 VND/person pay Mr. Hung - The person who picks you up.

4. Bus type: Sleeper bus + van + train

5. In case train tickets are no longer available or the mini van arrives late. The driver will arrange a mini van to take you to Luang Prabang.

F. Schedule 4: Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu Bus Station – Luang Prabang ( ROYAL CABIN + mini van + Train)

1. Pick up at MY DINH BUS STATION and departs for Dien Bien Phu bus station from 7:30pm - 8:00pm (ROYAL CABIN - VIP)

At Dien Bien Phu bus station, the bus driver will take you to the mini van departing for Muang Xai. When you arrive at Muang Xai, the driver will give you a train ticket to depart for Luang Prabang.
Estimated time to arrive in Luang Prabang is about 5pm.
In case train tickets are no longer available or the mini van arrives late. The driver will arrange a mini van to take you to Luang Prabang.

3. Ticket price: 1,550,000 VND/person pay Mr. Hung - The person who picks you up.

4. Bus type: ROYAL CABIN + mini van + train

E. Fees at the border?

You need to pay attention to the mandatory fees at the border gate to avoid wasting a lot of time: Exiting Vietnam, you will have to pay a fee of about 1 USD + Entering Laos, you will also have to pay a fee of 1 USD. The total amount you need is at least 2 USD = 50,000 Kip / VND

Applies to all nationalities including Vietnamese and Lao nationalities.

F. Note:

1. For nationalities that are not eligible for Laos Visa Free, you are required to have a Laos Visa. To get a Laos Visa, you need to go to the Laos embassy - Address 40 Quang Trung Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. You should come over in the morning before 11.00am. You will receive your Laos Visa 3.00pm the same day. The Lao Embassy is closed Saturday and Sunday. (Nam Can border gate or Tay Trang Border gate does not accept Lao Visa on arrival (VOA) and Lao evisa. Therefore, you need to go to the Laos embassy to apply for a visa before departure)

2. On the way, the bus stops at Vietnamese/Laotian restaurants for guests to have dinner and lunch.
3. Almost all Lao buses cannot use wifi.

G. Laos train - what can you take?

Only 20 kilograms of carry-on baggage is allowed for each passenger on the high-speed EMS trains. Ordinary trains allow more carry-on baggage. Wheelchairs for disabled passengers are allowed and some stations have elevator access.

Items prohibited from being carried by passengers into the stations or on trains are:

1) Weapons and ammunition of any kind such as pistols, rifles, sports rifles and other modified guns. (The rule does not apply to civil servants, police officers and soldiers.

2) All kinds of explosives such as fireworks and rocket-propelled grenades.

3) Chemicals, including hydrogen, methane, ethane, butane, ethylene, propylene, acetylene, carbon monoxide, liquefied petroleum gas, fluoride, oxygen (except for medical purposes), gasoline, diesel and kerosene.

4) Drugs of all kinds, including heroin, ephedrine, crystal meth, cocaine and marijuana.

5) Sharp objects such as knives, axes, cutters, etc. that can cause injury or death.

6) Animals, both alive and dead, including cats and dogs.

7) Food that smells bad or watery food that can cause uncleanliness and dirty the surroundings of the train or stations.
