- To travel from Da Nang to Pakse, you need a Lao visa obtained from the Lao embassy or consulate in Hanoi/Da Nang/Ho Chi Minh City (if you are not visa-free) + a valid Vietnamese visa. Address of the Lao Consulate in Da Nang: 16 Tran Quy Cap Street, Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang.  Remember to bring two 4x6 photos with a white background.

 

Note:

- If you are not a citizen of Laos visa free, you need to apply for a Laos visa before departure.
- Apply for a Lao visa at the Lao embassy in Hanoi or the Lao consulate general in Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City.
- The time to apply for a Laos visa usually takes 1 working day. You should go to the Laos embassy or consulate general in the morning and will receive your Laos Visa in the afternoon.
- The Lao Embassy or Lao consulate general is closed on Saturdays and Sundays + major Vietnamese New Year holidays and Lao New Year.
- Nam Giang Border Gate (Vietnam) or Dak Taook Border Gate (Sekong, Laos) do not accept online evisa or Visa On Arrival - Only accept visas applied directly at the Lao embassy or Lao consulate general.
